This authentic African Culture quilt was purchased in Aswan Egypt in Sept 2018. The quilt is handmade by one of the Nubian women of the Heissa Island.
Surrounded by the River Nile, Heissa Island is one of the few remaining ancestral lands of the Nubians, the descendants of an ancient African civilization as old as Egypt itself, which once presided over an empire and even ruled Egypt. Their historical homeland, often referred to as Nubia, stretches along the Nile covering present-day southern Egypt and northern Sudan.
